I think you all know my name already, but here is a brief bio: -I was born in Rangoon, Burma (which is no longer called Burma, but i don't care that's still what i call it). Don't ask me what it was like, i don't remember. Try and describe out loud an old picture you recall looking at 20 years ago... that's about my memory of Burma. My family consisted of my mother, father, and older sister. -We moved from Burma in 1976. Stopping by in Hong Kong for a bit then
the Philippines, we landed on Oahu. After moving around to different parts
of the island we finally settled in Palolo Valley in '78. There i spent
most of my childhood. I actually have memories about that part... some
pretty sharp ones as well. -After HS, i went to Kapiolani Correctional Center for a while to gather some core credits toward this ever elusive degree. In what i still had no idea. For a time i considered becoming an engineer... then i realized i hate higher math. I was always more of a theory person, so after science went from theories to formulas i ended up getting more into humanities... but i still needed a piece of paper that said i was smart. -Transferring to UH with still no idea what lay ahead of me i thought i would go into communications, that turned out to be a no go as well, but that did start me on what has become one of my most favorite hobbies/vices the internet Yes i can proudly say i was around when Netscape was just starting... back in the days when we could type faster than our modems could send/receive... imagine trying to use napster on a 2400 or worse yet, 300 baud modem... -Finally i settled on a major... history. Why history you ask? um.. i have no straight answer to that... i just happen to take a few higher level history courses at random and liked them? but... this turned out to be a great idea, which combined with my love of anything and everything japanese... on one positive accomplishment i managed to finish my 10 year bachelor in only 8.5 years -Now i have a real job... sort of. I work as a Computer Service Representative for the City and County of Honolulu. -What's next? I have no idea... does it really matter? I think i'd probably like to settle down eventually, but for now i want to enjoy life... |
